This transformational experience is for women who are ready to stop second-guessing themselves, release the weight of old stories, and step into their boldest season yet with confidence, courage, and clarity. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, soulful sisterhood, and intentional inner work, you’ll rediscover the power of trusting yourself and create a ripple effect that flows into every area of your life.
In Alentejo, time slows and truth rises. The cork forests, olive groves, and timeless streets don’t just tell stories, they mirror yours. And they’re ready to show you what happens when you stop holding back.
Picture yourself riding through a cork forest on a rugged jeep, the air thick with history as you touch the bark of trees that have stood for centuries, silent witnesses of resilience, strength, and rebirth. Just like those trees, your own roots run deep. This retreat is about trusting them again.
Now imagine standing in a family-run olive grove, surrounded by trees over 2,000 years old. Their twisted trunks carry stories of endurance and vulnerability, the kind of beauty that only comes from time, weathering, and the courage to remain standing. In their presence, you’ll be invited to soften, to be seen, and to remember that vulnerability isn’t weakness, it’s the birthplace of lasting strength.
And you won’t be walking this path alone. The group is intentionally intimate with just a small circle of women, each answering the same call to trust more deeply and live more boldly. In this kind of sacred container, surface-level conversations fall away. What’s left are raw truths, laughter that heals, and support that doesn’t vanish when the retreat ends. These aren’t just connections for the week… they’re bonds that will carry into every season of your life.
And when we step into the historic city of Évora, with its white-washed walls and cobblestone streets, you’ll feel the pulse of life echoing through every arch and stone. Here, amidst timeless beauty, you’ll be asked to step out of hesitation and into bold expression, your voice, your presence, your next chapter.
This is not about escaping your life. It’s about learning to trust yourself more deeply, to let vulnerability become your teacher, and to claim the boldness that’s been waiting inside you all along.
You Will Leave Portugal With…
-
The courage to trust yourself fully, even when the path isn’t clear. No more second-guessing or outsourcing your power. You’ll know how to ground yourself in your own wisdom and make decisions that feel aligned, steady, and unshakable.
-
A deeper respect for your own vulnerability. Instead of seeing it as weakness, you’ll recognize it as the very source of your strength. Just like the olive trees that have endured for thousands of years, you’ll leave with practices to stand rooted even when life feels uncertain.
-
Bold expression that feels natural, not forced. You’ll unlock the freedom to speak your truth, set boundaries with clarity, and live in alignment with what excites you. No more shrinking, performing, or waiting for permission. Your boldest self gets to lead.
-
Actionable tools to carry home. From morning rituals to reflective practices you can return to again and again, you’ll leave with simple but powerful ways to keep your joy alive, stay grounded, and shift back into alignment no matter what life throws at you.
-
Relationships that expand instead of drain. When you trust yourself, every relationship around you shifts. You’ll gain insight on how to bring more clarity and compassion into the connections you value most, starting with the one you have with yourself.
-
Breakthrough moments that stick. Whether it’s during a raw heart-to-heart in a sisterhood circle or a reflection sparked by standing among olive trees older than history books, you’ll experience “a-ha” moments that ripple through every part of your life.
-
The kind of sisterhood that’s rare to find. In this intimate circle of women, you’ll create bonds rooted in trust, truth, and joy. These aren’t connections that fade once you go home. They become lifelong allies who walk beside you as you keep stepping into your next chapter.
-
Memories that will live in your body. From laughter echoing on the cobblestone streets of Évora to the quiet awe of blending your own wine, Portugal will become a mirror of your transformation, and a reminder of what’s possible when you choose yourself.
-
The clarity, courage, and confidence to live boldly as the most radiant version of you. This retreat will leave you buzzing with purpose, peace, and excitement for what’s ahead, because you’re not here to play small. You’re here to live fully, boldly, and beautifully on your own terms.
Doesn’t this sound like the moment you’ve been waiting for?
Portugal is ready. The only question is… Are YOU?
You can keep playing small, hiding parts of yourself, and waiting for the “right” time…
Or you can come to Portugal and remember what it feels like to live wide open.
This is where you’ll trust yourself enough to stop second-guessing. Where you’ll discover that vulnerability isn’t weakness but your superpower. Where bold expression stops being something you admire in others, and starts being your own daily truth.
Trust, transformation, and a ticket to Portugal! Let's go!
Have you been feeling that tug inside, and the sense that it’s time to stop holding back and start living with more truth, more freedom, more you?
Maybe you’re craving the confidence to finally trust your own decisions, the space to breathe without all the roles and expectations, or the courage to speak your desires out loud.
If that sounds like where you are, then this retreat may be exactly what this season of your life is calling you toward.
And if now isn’t your time, that’s okay too.
But if you are ready to step out of the routine and into an experience designed to help you trust yourself more deeply, embrace vulnerability without fear, and step into bold expression that feels both natural and powerful, Portugal is waiting.
Keep reading, because I’d love to show you what this journey can open up for you.
How do you know this retreat is for you?
Well, if you find yourself smiling, nodding, or whispering “yep, that’s me” as you read these next 11 transformations (even if it’s just half of them), consider it your sign.
Portugal is calling, and your answer is already written all over your face.
Imagine trusting yourself so fiercely that doubt doesn’t even get a seat at the table.
You’ll learn how to silence the overthinking spiral and lean fully into your own wisdom. Decision-making? Handled. Confidence? Locked in.
Vulnerability that feels like power, not pressure.
Here, you’ll discover what happens when you stop armoring up and start letting yourself be seen. Spoiler alert: it feels amazing.
A voice that doesn’t shrink in the room. It fills it.
No more apologizing for taking up space. You’ll find your bold expression and learn how to use it with clarity, courage, and ease.
Practices that actually stick once you’re home.
We’re not about fluffy “feel-good” hacks that fade. You’ll leave with simple daily rituals and tools that keep you grounded and aligned no matter what life throws at you.
Relationships that feel like an energy boost, not an energy drain.
Because when you stop abandoning yourself, you attract the kind of connections that expand you instead of shrink you.
Breakthroughs that hit you right where you need them.
Whether it’s while blending your own wine, standing under olive trees older than empires, or sharing with the other women, you’ll leave with insights that stay.
A sisterhood of women who don’t just “get it”. They get you.
This isn’t a massive group. It’s a small, powerful circle that feels more like a chosen family. And let’s be honest… life is better with people who truly see you.
Guilt-free joy (because guilt is officially canceled).
You’ll learn to infuse your days with more YES moments. The kind that make you light up, and without apologizing or explaining.
The weight of stress lifted off your chest.
Through guided practices, reflection, and release rituals, you’ll finally exhale what you’ve been carrying. Lighter, freer, more you.
A crystal-clear sense of what’s next.
Portugal’s ancient landscapes have a way of reflecting your inner truth. You’ll return home knowing exactly where you’re going, and why.
Courage you can’t fake.
By the end of this retreat, boldness won’t just be an idea. It’ll be your new normal. You’ll walk away feeling unstoppable, grounded, and fully expressed.
If this list made your head nod, your heart beat faster, or your soul whisper “yes, finally”, then you already know.
Portugal isn’t just another trip. It’s your next chapter waiting to be claimed.
By the end of this retreat…
You will walk away anchored in unshakable self-trust, no longer questioning whether you’re “enough” but knowing it in your bones. Vulnerability will no longer feel like something to avoid. It will be the strength that allows you to connect more deeply with yourself and others. And bold expression won’t just be a concept, it will be how you naturally move through life by speaking your truth, honoring your desires, and showing up fully present.
You’ll return home not only with clarity about your next chapter, but with the courage to write it on your own terms. Every decision, every relationship, every moment will flow from the confidence and alignment you’ve cultivated here in Portugal. This retreat isn’t just a pause. It’s a turning point, one that will ripple through every area of your life long after your suitcase is unpacked.
Truth Moment… This Retreat Isn’t for Everyone
By now, you’ve seen what is waiting for you in Portugal. But before you grab your spot, let’s keep it honest:
This retreat may not be for you if:
- You just want a vacation. If you’re only here for pretty selfies, poolside cocktails, and a “been there, done that” checkmark on your bucket list… this isn’t it. We’ll have fun, yes, but this is transformation, not tourism.
- You’re not ready to look in the mirror. This retreat is about self-trust, vulnerability, and bold expression. If you’re not willing to go inward, listen to your own truth, and get real with yourself, Portugal will feel like a lot more than you signed up for.
- You’d rather stay armored up. This experience thrives on openness. If your plan is to keep everything surface-level, smile through the breakthroughs, and avoid being witnessed, then this circle won’t serve you (and you won’t serve it).
- You don’t vibe with sisterhood. This retreat is intimate on purpose. We go deep, we laugh hard, we cry sometimes, and we celebrate each other’s wins like they’re our own. If you’re not open to genuine connection, this isn’t your room.
- You’re not willing to invest in yourself. Transformation doesn’t happen by accident—it takes time, energy, and yes, commitment. If you’re not ready to prioritize your growth, that’s okay, but this retreat is for women who are.
If you’re reading this list thinking “Nope, that’s not me,” then cool, and you’ve got your clarity.
But if your gut is whispering “Yes, this is what I’ve been needing,” then you already know the answer. This retreat is for you.
We’re keeping this intimate with just 6 women. So if you’re ready to put yourself at the top of your own list, claim your space now. Portugal is waiting!
Pour the wine, pack the courage – register now!
Our Homes in the Heart of Alentejo
Your retreat experience has been intentionally designed so even your accommodations support your transformation. Over eight days, you’ll live in two distinct sanctuaries, each one chosen to hold a different part of your journey. And because this is your time, every woman will have her own private room for the entire stay—no sharing, no compromises, just space to breathe, reflect, and rest fully.
Together, these two homes mirror your retreat journey:
Évora roots you in history and resilience. Montemor-o-Novo restores you into renewal and bold beginnings.
This isn’t just about where you’ll stay. It’s about being held—first to ground, then to rise.

Casa do Governador – Évora
For the first half of the retreat, we’ll root ourselves at Casa do Governador, a historic estate just outside the UNESCO city of Évora. Once a home for friars, today it welcomes you into rustic elegance surrounded by vineyards, cork trees, and open countryside.
Here, time slows down, where you’ll sip your morning coffee on a sunlit terrace, stroll among five acres of vines, or cool off in one of the outdoor pools. In the evenings, cozy corners and fireplaces invite quiet reflection and meaningful conversation. This is where your journey begins: grounded, rooted, and opening to trust.
Sleep & Nature Hotel – Montemor-o-Novo
For the second half of the retreat, we’ll shift into Sleep & Nature Hotel, a modern wellness haven designed for restoration. With sweeping views of Alentejo’s rolling hills, indoor and outdoor pools, and a full-service spa, this is where you’ll exhale fully. Spacious rooms open directly to nature, inviting peace and presence.
Here, vulnerability turns into strength, and bold expression begins to feel like your natural state. It’s the perfect space to integrate all you’ve uncovered, and rise into your next chapter with clarity and confidence.

This was my very first R.A.W. retreat, held in stunning Greece, and it was nothing short of life-changing. When I arrived, I carried fear, anxiety, and years of unforgiveness toward myself. Through this experience, Denise gave me tools I will hold onto forever. I came here already loving myself, but this retreat helped me discover how to love myself deeper, with more compassion and freedom than I ever thought I could.
The relationships I formed are lifelong—we came in as strangers and are leaving as sisters. Denise makes the journey feel safe, accessible, and truly transformational. She creates the kind of space where you don’t have to perform or pretend—you can simply be, and that’s enough.
This retreat gave me the courage to release what no longer serves me and trust myself in new ways. It’s shifted my entire outlook on life. If you’re wondering whether you should say yes to a retreat with Denise, stop second-guessing yourself. Just go. You’ll thank yourself forever.

8 days, 2 sanctuaries, 1 unstoppable transformation. YES, Please!
A Table That Transforms You
Food in Portugal isn’t just a meal…it’s a love letter written with olive oil, herbs, and centuries of tradition. On this retreat, every bite will be part of your transformation, connecting you back to the land, to yourself, and to each other.
On one unforgettable evening, we’ll toast to your journey with an exclusive group dinner at Fialho in Évora at one of Portugal’s most renowned restaurants. This isn’t just dinner. It’s indulgence that honors your courage, your breakthroughs, and the sisterhood we’re building together.
Across the retreat, expect authentic farm-to-table feasts prepared with organic, locally sourced ingredients. Think rich açorda, that classic Alentejo bread soup with garlic, olive oil, fresh coriander, and a gently poached egg, comfort food at its highest form. Or savor Carne de Porco à Alentejana, a savory fusion of marinated pork and clams with potatoes, elevated by local spices and coriander .
You’ll taste migas, which is crumbled wheat bread soaked in garlic and olive oil, often paired with tender lamb or pork chops, the kind of soul-food that hugs you back .
For dessert? Be sure to save room for Sericaia with plums from Elvas, a velvety egg pudding perfumed with cinnamon and lemon zest . Or delight in Azevias de Grão from Évora, delicate fried pastries filled with chickpeas, almonds, and sweet spices, tradition and taste in every bite .
Pro tip: Leave a little space in your suitcase, because once you savor the Alentejo’s olive oil, you’ll want to bring a few bottles home. Every drizzle over salad or fresh bread becomes a moment to relive your Portugal journey.
These meals are more than sustainable, local fare. They’re soulful invitations to savor presence, connection, and transformation.
I had an amazing experience attending an international R.A.W. retreat to Peru. Every single detail was thought out and intentional.
I had never worked on my internal self or the baggage I carried until this retreat. Denise questioned my patterns in ways that broke through barriers and shifted how I reacted to situations. She encouraged me to journal and write unsent letters that helped me heal and have heartfelt conversations with family.
This retreat was the beginning of uncovering my true why, letting go of what no longer served me, and moving toward a healthy future with the tools Denise gave me. If you have the opportunity to attend one of her retreats, do it! It will transform your life.

Unforgettable Experiences Await You in Portugal
Each experience has been chosen with intention to reflect the heart of Alentejo and to mirror your own journey of self-trust, vulnerability, and bold expression.
Cork & Terroir Wine Tasting & Jeep Tour
Feel the wind in your hair as the Jeep carries you across Alentejo’s vast landscapes, rolling fields, ancient trees, and wide horizons stretching as far as you can see. Then, the journey brings you into the heart of a cork forest, where towering oaks stand as guardians of resilience and renewal. Here you’ll pause, touch their bark, and witness the centuries-old tradition of cork harvesting, which is a process of patience, care, and transformation. Just as the cork oak sheds its bark to grow stronger, you’ll be reminded of your own capacity to endure, to release, and to rise again.
From there, you’ll return to the vineyard estate for a premium terroir wine tasting and a traditional Alentejo lunch, savoring the flavors of the land that has been your teacher all morning. This isn’t just a tasting, it’s a journey through Portugal’s soul, where every sip and bite is infused with history, resilience, and deep-rooted self-trust.
Spa Experience in a Historic Monastery
Step through stone archways into a former monastery where time slows and serenity takes over. For centuries, these walls sheltered monks who devoted their lives to stillness, reflection, and spiritual renewal. Now, you’ll be invited into that same sacred rhythm, only this time, the focus is on your body, your soul, and your well-being.
Here, spa rituals inspired by ancient monastic traditions await you. Picture yourself lying back as warm olive oil infused with herbs is gently massaged into your skin, melting away tension you didn’t even realize you were holding. In this sanctuary, stress dissolves, silence speaks, and your body remembers what true rest feels like.
This isn’t just self-care. It’s a reminder that true strength is born in surrender, and that silence often holds the loudest truths.
Olive Oil Tasting at a Family-Run Farm
Step onto land that has been lovingly tended by the same family for generations, where tradition and care infuse every drop of liquid gold. Here, olive trees stretch toward the sky, bearing fruit that reflects centuries of patience and devotion.
As you explore the groves and learn the process behind Portugal’s prized olive oil, you’ll be invited into a guided tasting experience that awakens all your senses. The aroma is green and peppery, the texture luxuriously smooth, the flavor earthy and alive. It’s a reminder that the simplest things when given time, attention, and love become extraordinary.
And because you’ll fall in love with these flavors, save a little room in your suitcase. Taking a few bottles home means every drizzle on bread or salad becomes a portal back to Portugal, carrying with it the memory of slowing down, savoring, and saying yes to life’s richness.
Stargazing with a Local Astronomer
As night falls over Alentejo, the sky transforms into a canvas of infinite light. You’ll step away from the noise of daily life and stretch out beneath one of Europe’s clearest skies, where silence feels sacred and every star seems close enough to touch.
Guided by a local astronomer, you’ll journey through constellations, planets, and cosmic wonders, learning stories written in the stars. The vastness overhead invites you to soften and expand all at once, reminding you that your presence here matters, yet you are also part of something far greater.
In the hush of the night, surrounded by starlight and sisterhood, you’ll feel the duality of being both grounded in your body and limitless in your soul. This is awe in its purest form, and a moment that will stay etched in your memory long after you leave Portugal.
Winery Tour, Vineyard Meal & Personalized Wine Blend
Imagine strolling through sun-drenched vineyards, the air filled with the scent of ripe grapes and earth, as your guide shares the centuries-old artistry of Portuguese winemaking. Soon, you’ll sit down for a picturesque meal right in the heart of the vines, a setting so magical it feels like stepping into a living postcard. As laughter flows and glasses clink, you’ll savor flavors that embody the land itself, creating a memory you’ll carry forever.
Then, the experience deepens. Inside the cellar, you’ll roll up your sleeves for a hands-on blending session, crafting a wine that is uniquely your own. Each pour and swirl becomes a reflection of you, your journey, your transformation, your bold expression. And when you cork that bottle, you’re not just creating wine…you’re bottling a memory, a truth, a piece of Portugal that will travel home with you.
This is more than an activity. It’s a keepsake you’ll carry back across the ocean, waiting for the moment you uncork it and taste not just wine, but the courage, connection, and clarity you discovered here.

I attended Denise’s R.A.W. retreat in Peru because something deep inside me told me I needed to be there—and I’m so glad I listened. At first, I was hesitant. I don’t usually like to travel far, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. But something in me said, just go.
From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of relief, healing, and calmness like I had never experienced before. Denise has a gift—she brought out things in me I didn’t even realize I needed to work on, and she helped me find the truest version of myself.
Throughout the retreat, she created an atmosphere of joy, compassion, and transformation. In just one week, I experienced a massive shift. I’m leaving Peru rejuvenated, healed, and stepping into life as a new woman.
If you’re considering attending a R.A.W. retreat with Denise, say yes. It’s truly life-changing. Denise is caring, kind, non-judgmental, and knows how to push you—in the best way—to discover the healing and power already inside you, so you can finally live your best life.

Alentejo Fun Facts You’ll Love
- Alentejo is the world’s cork capital, so every time you pop open a bottle of wine, you might be holding a little piece of where you’ve been.
- Évora, where we begin our retreat, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with cobblestone charm from the Roman ruins, Gothic cathedrals, and medieval walls that feel like stepping into a history book.
- Ancient olive trees are basically the wise grandmothers of the land. Some in Alentejo are more than 1,000 years old and still producing fruit. Talk about aging gracefully!
- Wide open spaces are the Alentejo vibe. This region makes up about 30% of Portugal’s land, but only about 7% of its people live here. That means plenty of space to breathe, reflect, and dance under the stars without an audience.
- Cork oaks (sobreiro) are legally protected in Portugal. These trees aren’t just useful, they’re cherished. The forests they grow in (called montados) are home to rare birds, butterflies, and some of the most peaceful silence you’ll ever hear.
- Bread, cheese, and wine aren’t just staples here, they’re practically love languages. Many villages in Alentejo still make them using ancient recipes passed down through generations. Every bite is tradition on a plate.
- The Alentejo skies are ridiculously clear. With almost no light pollution, the stargazing is so good it feels like someone switched the universe into high definition.
This looks amazing!
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this retreat for me?
Led by an intuitive, heart-centered guide, this experience is designed for women who are ready to move beyond surface-level living and into greater trust, courage, and authentic expression. If you’ve been feeling the pull to slow down, listen inward, and create change that feels bold yet aligned, this retreat was made with you in mind.
Here, you’ll be surrounded by like-minded women, each on her own journey of growth, yet all willing to show up honestly and vulnerably. Together, you’ll explore the breathtaking landscapes of Alentejo, sip wine amidst ancient vineyards, and let Portugal’s beauty mirror back the resilience and brilliance within you.
If you’re looking only for a vacation, this isn’t the right fit. While you’ll experience incredible moments, such as dining at one of Portugal’s most renowned restaurants, tasting olive oil from thousand-year-old trees, and blending your own wine to take home, every experience is woven with intention. This retreat is an investment in yourself, in your healing, and in living life with clarity and courage.
Whether you’re a professional craving a reset, a woman at a crossroads seeking clarity, or simply someone longing for a safe space to breathe and reconnect with what matters most, Portugal offers both the container and the invitation.
If your heart is saying yes, even with a little nervousness mixed in, trust that whisper. That’s your soul letting you know you’re ready.
Will I have to share a room?
Nope! One of the luxuries of this retreat is that every woman has her own private room for the entire stay. This ensures you have space to rest, reflect, and integrate at your own pace.
What’s included in the price?
Your investment covers everything you’ll need once you arrive in Portugal. For eight days and seven nights, you’ll be immersed in comfort and care, with private accommodations (no room sharing), daily breakfasts, and four beautifully prepared group dinners—including an exclusive evening at Fialho in Évora and a magical vineyard meal. Three lunches are also included as part of our group experiences, so you’ll be nourished as you explore. Every retreat session, your private one-on-one with Denise, and all scheduled experiences—like the cork forest Jeep tour, olive oil tasting, monastery spa, stargazing, and wine blending—are part of your journey. Private transportation during the retreat is also provided, so all you need to do is arrive and let yourself fully experience Portugal.
What’s not included?
Your international flights to and from Portugal are not included, as well as any extra nights you might choose to stay before or after the retreat dates. A few meals, including some lunches and dinners, are intentionally left open so you have space to rest, reflect, or even wander off for your own discovery moments. Personal extras—such as spa services beyond what’s listed, shopping, or souvenirs—are also up to you. And finally, trip insurance is required for all participants, but must be arranged separately.
Do I need to bring anything special?
Comfortable clothes for both group sessions and excursions, a journal, walking shoes, and a curious heart. You may also want to leave a little extra space in your suitcase for olive oil or wine, because trust me, you’ll want to bring a taste of Portugal home. You will receive a detailed packing list, as well as other important information to help you prepare well ahead of our departure time.
If I attend this retreat, do I have to attend all of the group sessions and activities?
This retreat is intentionally designed as a full journey, not a menu of pick-and-choose options. Every session, every experience, from blending your own wine to stargazing under the Alentejo sky, has been woven together to support your growth, your breakthroughs, and the sisterhood we’ll create as a group.
Your willingness to show up fully matters. When you participate, you’re not just saying yes to your own transformation, you’re adding to the collective energy that makes this retreat powerful and unforgettable. Vulnerability and connection are what make this experience so much more than a vacation.
That said, we know everyone’s process is different. If the idea of fully committing to the sessions and activities doesn’t resonate with you, it might be a sign that this isn’t the right time for this retreat. This is a space for women ready to lean in, trust the process, and allow themselves to be both seen and supported. And when you do, the magic unfolds in ways you can’t even imagine yet.
I’m coming alone. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Many women attend our R.A.W. retreats solo, and this is one of the best places to meet like-minded souls. By the end, you won’t just have retreat sisters, you’ll have lifelong friends.
What if I’ve never traveled to Portugal before?
No problem! We’ll provide clear instructions on how to arrive, what airports to use, and what to expect. Once you’re in Portugal, we’ll handle the logistics. You just get here, and we’ll take it from there.
Can I bring my kids or life partner?
This retreat is a sacred container created just for women who are ready to step away from their daily roles and responsibilities to focus fully on themselves. It’s not about being a mom, a partner, a boss, or any of the titles you wear in your everyday life. It’s about giving yourself the rare gift of time and space to reconnect with you.
While we absolutely honor the importance of family and relationships, this Portugal experience is intentionally women-only. By creating this kind of environment, we open the door to deep vulnerability, shared trust, and powerful sisterhood. It’s about giving yourself permission to exhale, knowing you don’t have to care for anyone else in the moment but your own growth and transformation.
Here in the heart of Alentejo, it’s all about YOU. Your healing, your breakthroughs, and your bold expression. Your loved ones will benefit from this too, because when you return more aligned and fulfilled, those shifts ripple outward.
Do I need a passport to attend this retreat?
Yes, you’ll need a valid passport to join us in Portugal. Since the retreat takes place in the Alentejo region, all travelers must have a current passport to enter the country. Most international destinations, including Portugal, also require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date, so it’s a good idea to double-check now and renew early if needed.
I recommend pulling out your passport today to confirm the expiration date, and don’t wait until the last minute. Renewal timelines can vary, and the last thing you want is unnecessary stress as your retreat approaches.
If you’re unsure about the requirements, or need guidance on the renewal process, let me know. I want your journey to be smooth from the moment you book your flight to the moment you land in Portugal ready to exhale, explore, and embrace your transformation.
Is it safe to travel to Portugal?
Yes, Portugal is widely known as one of Europe’s safest and most welcoming destinations. The Alentejo region, where our retreat is based, is especially peaceful, filled with open landscapes, charming towns, and a warm sense of community. Travelers consistently remark on how relaxed and at ease they feel here.
Your safety and comfort are my top priorities. Throughout the retreat, you’ll have private transportation for our scheduled experiences, trusted local guides, and carefully chosen accommodations. You won’t have to worry about navigating logistics or feeling lost, because we’ve designed everything so you can fully immerse yourself in the experience without distraction.
Like anywhere you travel, it’s wise to take common-sense precautions: keep an eye on personal belongings in busier areas, stay mindful of your surroundings, and respect local customs.
By following our thoughtfully curated itinerary and leaning into the support that’s built into this retreat, you can focus on what really matters, which is your growth, your breakthroughs, and savoring the beauty of Portugal without unnecessary worry.
What’s the weather like in Portugal in mid-March, and what should I pack?
March in Alentejo feels like early spring with mild days, cooler mornings and evenings, and the occasional light rain. The weather is fresh and changing, which actually makes it the perfect backdrop for slowing down and reconnecting with yourself.
No need to stress about what to bring, because you’ll receive a detailed packing list well ahead of time, with suggestions on the types of clothing and essentials that will keep you comfortable for all of our experiences. That way, you can relax knowing you’ll be fully prepared without second-guessing your suitcase.
What airport do I fly into and out of?
You’ll fly into Lisbon Airport (LIS), Portugal’s main international hub and the closest airport to our retreat location in Alentejo. This is where your journey begins, and from there, all your retreat transportation is arranged so you can simply arrive and exhale.
For your return, you’ll also depart from Lisbon Airport (LIS), making your travel logistics simple and streamlined. Once you register, you’ll receive clear recommendations for both arrival and departure times so you’ll know exactly when to book your flights to align with the retreat schedule.
No guesswork, no stress, just clarity and ease from the moment you leave home to the moment you return, carrying Portugal in your heart (and maybe a few bottles of olive oil or wine in your suitcase!).
Speaking of airports, are flights included in the retreat investment?
Flights are not included in the retreat investment. Each attendee is responsible for booking her own airfare to and from Lisbon Airport (LIS). This gives you the flexibility to choose your preferred airline, travel times, and any extended travel you may want to add on before or after the retreat.
To make your planning easier, once you register you’ll receive detailed guidance on the best arrival and departure times so your flights align seamlessly with our retreat schedule.
If you’d like extra support, our trusted travel specialist Ales (pronounced Alesh) can help you with flight recommendations and planning. His guidance ensures your journey feels seamless from start to finish.
How do I get to and from the airport and our retreat hotels?
Getting to and from the retreat is simple and stress-free. Private transfers are included for all attendees on the official start and end dates of the retreat. When you land at Lisbon Airport (LIS), a dedicated driver will be waiting to welcome you and bring you directly to our first retreat home in Évora, setting the tone for ease and comfort from the very beginning.
At the close of our week together, private transfers will also be arranged from our final retreat location back to Lisbon Airport so you can head home with peace of mind, and a heart full of memories.
If you decide to arrive earlier or stay longer in Portugal, we’ll gladly help you coordinate transportation outside the retreat dates. Those transfers will be at your own expense, but you won’t be left figuring it out alone. You’ll always have support to ensure your travels feel smooth and worry-free.
What is the cancellation policy?
All payments made toward this Portugal retreat are non-refundable. This reflects the significant time, care, and investment that go into securing accommodations, activities, and logistics well in advance. Because everything is pre-booked, we are unable to offer refunds under any circumstances.
If something unexpected comes up and you can’t attend, you still have options:
- Transfer or Sell Your Spot: You’re welcome to transfer or sell your retreat spot to another woman who feels called to join us. If you choose this, please let us know right away so we can update our records.
- Transfer Your Credit: You can apply your full retreat credit toward a future retreat with Denise Marsh (private or group). This credit must be used within 12 months of the original retreat date.
- Trip Insurance: Trip insurance is required for all attendees. This protects your investment if unforeseen circumstances prevent you from traveling.
For cancellations, transfers, or assistance, email denisemarshraw@gmail.com. Thank you for respecting this policy, as it allows me to create a seamless, soulful, and transformative retreat experience for every woman who says yes.
For meals not included in the itinerary, will there be convenient places for food?
Yes! You’ll be well taken care of when it comes to meals outside the scheduled group dining. During the first half of the retreat, our Évora retreat home is just a short distance from the city center. That means you’ll have the chance to wander charming streets and discover local cafés, traditional taverns, and modern restaurants, which are all within easy reach. It’s the perfect opportunity to savor Alentejo flavors at your own pace while soaking up the atmosphere of this historic city.
In the second half of our retreat, we’ll settle into the peaceful Sleep & Nature Hotel in Montemor-o-Novo. This space has its very own restaurant on-site, so you can enjoy lunch or dinner without leaving the property if you’d like a slower, quieter evening. From fresh, local ingredients to dishes rooted in regional tradition, you’ll have access to nourishing and delicious options whenever hunger strikes.
So whether you’re exploring nearby eateries or enjoying the convenience of on-site dining, you’ll always have easy and satisfying choices for the meals not included in the retreat schedule.
What currency is used in Portugal, and should I bring cash?
Portugal uses the Euro (€). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in most places, especially in cities, hotels, and restaurants. That said, it’s still a good idea to have some cash on hand for smaller purchases, such as grabbing a coffee at a local café, buying something special at a market, or tipping.
To make things easier, you may want to exchange some money into Euros before your trip, as banks and credit unions at home often offer better rates than airport kiosks. ATMs are also easy to find in Portugal, but keep in mind your bank may charge international withdrawal fees. Planning ahead ensures you won’t have to stress about it once you’re there.
The good news? You’ll also receive guidance on recommended amounts to bring well before the retreat, so you’ll feel confident and prepared when it comes to handling money during your trip.
What are the payment options for this retreat?
I want this retreat to feel like a “yes” that’s within reach, so there are flexible payment options available. You can either pay in full or choose a convenient payment plan that spreads your investment over time, making it easier to align with your budget.
Details about the investment and payment plan options are available on the registration page under Investment Details.
If you have any questions or need a little extra clarity on the payment process, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to make this as smooth and stress-free as possible, so the only thing you need to focus on is getting ready for your Portugal journey.
Will there be free time during the retreat? And will I know the full itinerary in advance?
Yes, absolutely, there will be free time! While this retreat is thoughtfully designed with transformative sessions and group experiences, I deeply value the importance of space for rest, reflection, and simply doing what your soul craves in the moment. Whether that’s sipping an espresso in a sunlit square in Évora, journaling under ancient olive trees, or enjoying quiet time in your private room, you’ll have space to just be.
As for the itinerary, here’s where we invite you to practice one of the core themes of this retreat: trust. Instead of an hour-by-hour schedule, you’ll receive a clear outline of our key experiences and activities, but not a rigid agenda. Why? Because transformation doesn’t happen on a stopwatch. It happens in presence, in flow, and in the moments you can’t plan for.
This retreat is an invitation to let go of control, lean into trust, and allow yourself to be surprised by what unfolds. Every detail has been intentionally curated, so you can relax knowing you’re supported while also leaving room for magic to meet you right where you are.
How many women will be attending this retreat?
This Portugal retreat is intentionally designed as an intimate experience, limited to a small circle of women. By keeping the group size low, every participant has the space to feel fully seen, supported, and safe enough to lean into both vulnerability and bold expression.
The smaller group setting also allows me, as your guide, to spend focused one-on-one time with each woman, ensuring you receive personal attention and guidance alongside our group work. It’s this balance of private reflection and collective energy that makes the retreat so transformative.
This isn’t just a trip; it’s the beginning of a sisterhood. The bonds you’ll form here, through shared stories, laughter, and breakthroughs, will extend far beyond Portugal, becoming a network of women who “get it” and continue to inspire you long after you return home.
Is travel insurance required, and how do I get it?
Yes, travel insurance is required to attend this retreat. It’s not just a formality; it’s a safeguard for you. Travel insurance protects against the unexpected things, such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, flight delays, or even lost luggage, so you can arrive in Portugal with peace of mind, knowing you’re covered no matter what.
Travel insurance isn’t included in your retreat investment, but it’s simple to secure. You can purchase a policy through your preferred insurance provider, or if you’d like guidance, you can connect with our trusted travel specialist, Ales (pronounced Alesh) at ales@journeysofthespirit.com. He can walk you through options and help you choose the plan that best suits your needs.
This retreat is about releasing stress, not adding to it, and trip insurance ensures you can stay focused on your growth, joy, and transformation without worry.
What should I bring with me?
Don’t worry, you won’t be left guessing what to pack. Ahead of the retreat, you’ll receive a detailed packing list by email, covering everything from clothing suggestions to personal essentials. You’ll know exactly what belongs in your suitcase and what can stay at home, so you feel fully prepared and stress-free before you even board your flight.
We’ll also go over packing details and answer any questions during our pre-retreat virtual group session. This gives you the chance to connect with your fellow retreat sisters, share ideas, and pick up extra tips before we meet in Portugal.
By the time you zip up your suitcase, you’ll feel confident and ready knowing you have everything you need for a transformative and unforgettable week in Alentejo.
How do I prepare for an experience like this?
Before the retreat, we’ll gather for a virtual group video session where you’ll have the chance to ask questions, get answers, and receive guidance directly from me on how to prepare. You’ll leave that call feeling clear, supported, and excited for the life-shifting experience ahead!
Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Yes, absolutely! Portugal’s culinary traditions are rich and diverse, and the venues we’ve chosen are well-prepared to accommodate a variety of dietary needs. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or have other specific restrictions, you’ll find thoughtful options that allow you to fully enjoy the meals without worry.
From breakfasts at our retreat homes to group dinners and our special experiences, including the farm-to-table meal, olive oil tasting, and our exclusive dinner at Fialho, you’ll be able to savor dishes that honor both your preferences and the essence of Portuguese cuisine.
If you have dietary restrictions, just let us know when you register. That way, we can ensure everything is arranged in advance so your meals are not only stress-free but also a memorable and nourishing part of your journey.
Are there any physical requirements for attending this retreat?
This retreat does involve a moderate level of physical activity. You’ll want to feel comfortable with walking for extended periods, sometimes on uneven ground, navigating stairs, and exploring historic sites like Évora. Experiences such as the cork forest jeep tour, vineyard walks, and olive oil farm visit all require mobility and a willingness to be on your feet at times.
While everything is designed to be enriching and enjoyable, this retreat may not be the best fit for women with significant mobility limitations or accessibility needs. Many of the places we’ll be visiting in Alentejo are centuries old and not fully adapted for wheelchairs or those requiring extensive accommodations.
If you’re unsure whether this retreat is right for you, please reach out with your questions or concerns. I’ll gladly help you assess what to expect so you can make an informed decision that feels aligned for your body and your experience.
Can I arrive early or extend my stay?
Absolutely! Many women choose to arrive in Portugal a little early or stay a few extra days after the retreat to make the most of their journey. You may want extra time to adjust, explore Lisbon’s vibrant neighborhoods, or even venture north to Porto or south to the Algarve. Portugal is full of treasures waiting to be discovered, and extending your stay is a beautiful way to deepen your experience.
Accommodations and activities outside the official retreat dates aren’t included, but our trusted travel specialist, Ales (pronounced Alesh), can assist you with recommendations and planning. He’ll guide you toward the best options so your extended time in Portugal feels seamless and enriching.
Let this retreat be the catalyst, and if your heart is calling for a little more Portugal before or after, go for it!
Will I have internet access during the retreat?
Yes, both of our retreat homes provide internet access, so you’ll be able to connect if needed. That said, I gently encourage you to see this retreat as a rare invitation to unplug. The emails, notifications, and to-do lists will still be there when you return, but this week in Portugal is about you.
Stepping back from constant connection allows you to truly step into presence: to hear your own inner wisdom more clearly, to connect deeply with the women around you, and to recharge your mind, body, and spirit without distraction. Trust me, the texts and emails can wait…your transformation can’t.
You are able to schedule a 30 minute complimentary Love Chat with Denise Marsh, so she can answer all of your questions and help you determine if this retreat is the perfect experience for you!
